COLOURSØUND II is the brand new album from the alt-rock / songwriting project created by Billy Duffy of The Cult and Mike Peters of The Alarm.

With a release date set for July 16th 2021, COLOURSØUND II is a record of raw power, utilising rock’s essential components of guitar, vox, bass and drums. Simple but effective.

This special 'LIMITED STUDIO EDITION SKY BLUE VINYL + CD COLLECTION' features both LP and CD copies of Coloursøund II with bespoke 'acetate cut', SKY BLUE Vinyl and is limited to 250 copies signed by both Billy Duffy and Mike Peters.

Each copy of the STUDIO EDITION LP has been personally signed by both Billy Duffy and Mike Peters, and features two additional Duffy / Peters songs THE WILD and THE CANDLE which were both cut during the album's recording sessions. [These additional songs do not feature on the CD edition].

The Studio Edition LP also features a pack of studio lyric sheets featuring A4 facsimiles of hand written lyrics, recording notation and guitar chord structures which were used personally by both Billy Duffy and Mike Peters while recording in the studio.

These are copies of the actual lyric sheets Mike Peters was using when laying down the vocals and refining the words and / or, by Billy Duffy, as he was creating the guitar passages and sonic overdubs as the musical soundscape was being developed.

These studio artefacts give a unique insight into the recording process that enabled Billy and Mike to cut this second instalment of the Coloursøund project between the lockdowns.

The Studio Edition Sky Blue LP features a brand new graphic design by Dan Shearn, and is housed in a clear gatefold protective cover, gatefold inner sleeve and all-black inner LP sleeve including a pack of A4 lyric sheets and recording studio ephemera.

For the Sky Blue Vinyl, The Studios Edition has been acetate cut, rather than DMM (Direct Metal Mastering - which is done by computer).

An acetate cut is considered better because of the skills and knowledge used to recreate the audio sounds and dynamics that exist on the masters.

It's the way all records used to be made before CD's took over and a whole new world of digital mastering techniques became available.

When cutting Coloursøund II, some frequencies needed to be punched up to allow for the dynamics and texture of the analogue audio source, and to embrace the traditions of vinyl and retain the purity and warmth of the music, which is why, when played on your turntable, Coloursound II Studio Edition will literally burst forth from your speakers.
